About Me & My Site
I’m a 2010 graduate of Emmanuel College and am currently in pursuit of a Masters in Journalism at Emerson College. I’ve seen publication in newspapers and on the Internet for three years now and I figured it was time to put together a portfolio/blog to feature some of my work.
My professional writing career has seen two primary takes: I started up covering sports, and have since moved on to community journalism. I covered the 2010 World Cup for Comcast SportsNet and freelance regularly for AOL’s hyper-local news source, Patch, for which I have covered community events and issues as well as high school sports for West Roxbury, Jamaica Plain, the South End, Newton, Falmouth, amongst other towns and neighborhoods. For a week in April of 2011, I served as the interim editor of West Roxbury Patch.
In addition to my pursuit of a career in media and communications, I have also worked with children and teens for five years, and have explored the possibility of some day working as a teacher.
I foster a number of interests outside of my career, including literature, sports, film, politics and current events, philosophy, pop culture, absurd banter, and working odd jobs. And Seinfeld. I really, really, really like Seinfeld.
Welcome, and thanks!
